The Songs of Carole King & Neil Sedaka

They were two of the biggest hit-makers of the 60s and 70s -and they dated in high school! Yes, Neil Sedaka hired a tux, borrowed his dad’s car and drove Carole King to the prom!

They never wrote a song together but continued to support and inspire each other as they worked side by side in New York’s legendary hit factory, The Brill Building, churning out hit after hit! (Neil’s million seller ‘Oh Carol’ was inspired by their years of puppy love)

Songs include ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow’, ‘Calendar Girl’, ‘One Fine Day’, ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo?, ‘Natural Woman’,‘Stupid Cupid’, ‘The Locomotion’, ‘Solitaire’, ‘Breaking Up Is Hard to Do’, ‘Little Devil’, ‘Hard Rock Cafe’, ‘Go Away Little Girl’, ‘Love Will Keep Us Together’, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’…….and many more!

“Oh Carole!” celebrates young love, a lifelong friendship and songs that go ‘Down, Dooby Do, Down Down’. It’s a toe-tapping tribute to the most joyful era of pop music and two of the greatest songwriters of all time!

Oh Carole is accompanied by a 3 piece band. Arranged and Musically directed by Mark Jones.

Gina Hogan has been taking Australia, and the high seas by storm, wowing audiences with her sensational self-devised shows. The Women of the 60’s, The Belles of Broadway, Night and Day – the Doris and Shirley Show, The Christmas Belle and A Country Girl at Heart. With her vocal versatility, endearing personality, and infectious sense of humour, it’s no wonder audiences fall in love with this talented, charismatic woman.

Gina’s first professional role was in the musical Scrooge (1993) at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre. This started her love affair with this grand theatre, as she returned to perform in the original cast of Beauty and the Beast (on occasion playing Belle and Babette), followed by the ABBA smash hit show Mamma Mia! The Witches of Eastwick was the fourth musical to bring Gina back to the Princess Theatre.

Gina has a long association with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit production of CATS.  She began with the around-Australia big top tour CATS – Runaway to the Circus (1999). After that came the big top tour of South Korea (2003/04) where she played the role of Jellylorum/Griddlebone, and finally the CATS world tour to Athens in 2005.

Gina has always had a love for cabaret and has received critical acclaim for her sassy and comedic one woman shows.  Her debut cabaret show was For Once in my Life (1998), followed by Don’t Rain on my Parade (1999) and finally the very successful, At this evening’s performance… (2003). In 2000, Gina performed with the Australian Pops Orchestra which was certainly a highlight, as she was accompanied by 65 musicians.

Gina is no stranger to the small screen either, making TV appearances on Good Morning Australia, Neighbours and The Damnation of Harvey McCugh.
Performing in some of the most successful bands on the corporate circuit, Gina has graced The John Field Band in Sydney and Plastique in Melbourne, with her effortless and powerful vocals.
