cilla black - You’re my world

Cilla Black was one of the most authentic pop-culture personalities in contemporary history. With eleven top ten hits throughout the sixties and seventies and several hit television shows, Cilla carved a name for herself as an impressive singer with a relatable personality and a wicked sense of humour.

And now, Cilla Black is back! This hugely successful show is full of the powerhouse vocals and self-deprecating humour that made Cilla Black one of the UK’s most beloved icons. Featuring acclaimed performer Danielle O’Malley, audiences are given a glimpse into the world of the British pop icon and television personality at the peak of her popularity. While belting out Anyone Who Had a Heart and Alfie, Danielle shares stories about Cilla’s childhood in Liverpool.
Recounting her meteoric rise to fame, Danielle will dispel a few cheeky showbiz anecdotes about John, Paul, George, Ringo, and Cilla’s old mate Queen Elizabeth II. ‘CILLA – You’re My World’, creates a sense of palpable nostalgia and is full of charm, wit, beautiful storytelling and powerful music.

Songs include: Alfie, Step Inside Love, Going Out of My Head, Sing a Rainbow, Anyone Who Had a Heart, What the World Needs Now, You’re My World, and many more.

what people are saying.

Danielle performed The Songs of Cilla Black as part of Arts Centre Melbourne’s Morning Melodies season. It was a cracker of a show that the audience loved and we would gladly have her back again. She not only has a fabulous voice, but a talent for storytelling that made her performance something special.

“We were delighted with Danielle O’Malley’s performance as Cilla Black in her show “You’re My World”. Our audience response was very positive. This show was also an easy show to sell. It had one of the highest audiences this year for our matinee series. Melissa is a great producer to deal with; prompt in her replies and providing information, which is what we all like as venue managers.”

Melissa Langton and Winding Road Productions have supplied the Clocktower Centre with several productions, and each one has been very well received.
In particular, You’re My World: the Cilla Black Story was a very easy sell for us in our Morning Music program. The show sold out completely and our audience loved it. The marketing materials were great, the presentation and performance of a high standard and we received some lovely feedback from our regulars.

I wish to congratulate you on the excellent choice of Danielle O’Malley who performed the songs of Cilla Black yesterday. Together with her musical backing her show was altogether dynamic! Indeed, I have not been so greatly impressed over all the 20 + years of my attendance. I know that you have already got next year’s shows organised. Perhaps in the not too distant future you could have Danielle back again to entertain us.
